I suspect this is a story out of nothing, he points out a moment later that he has been feeling depressed of late.

Probably, but it did make me wonder if the Twitter types would find someone new to latch onto, carry on as before, realise he was the only one really keeping them involved etc - it'd be funny if the whole thing fell apart cos a bunch of people had different realizations around it

The BBC story states that someone told him that he felt Stephen's tweets were a bit boring and that's what started it. Then couple it with him feeling depressed.

The disagreement began when the other tweeter said "I admire and adore" Mr Fry, but that he found his tweets "a bit... boring... (sorry Stephen)".

That same tweeter later revealed that Mr Fry had blocked him as a result.

Good. If he quits, maybe others will. Then maybe they would go about their business and look for droids, or whatever it is they're supposed to be doing.

Fry's a diagnosed sufferer of bipolar syndrome isn't he? If so, he's just as likely to come back as not when the black dog leaves him again.

Fry worries me at times. He has always come over as being fundamentally fragile, despite the bluster. At times it seems that he’s very easy to destabilise, as this has proven.

Here's as good a place as any to recommend Fry's America book (from the TV series), absolutely brilliant and £5 in Bargain Books if my local one is anything to go by :D

I stopped following him a week or so ago. He seemed to have "gone off the boil" recently and I pruned my list of follows to something more manageable and relevant.
