Same here. Don't think I've had a 3 week window when I've not been on fairly substantial meds that I just can't drink with since February. Grrrrr! I've got some nice cider in the fridge, sitting there all lonely for another 22 days...

On an almost related note Mrs V and our eldest, (18 next month) were in the supermarket a few weeks ago and the young'un thought that seeing a packet of Tena Men on the shelf was the funniest thing she had seen... ever

Saturday evenings I'm either online, watching a film/HIGNFY repeat/something on iPlayer or at my mate's house. Or maybe reading a graphic novel... Basically anything but watching national revenue-raisers starring people that I'd nearly support a totalitarian regime for, just to have them shot

Actually, I was wondering today what the producers etc would do with the rest of the series if one of the contestants was off the show for whatever reason. Say an irate dad who's sick of not only having that sh1t on his TV, but who also has to listen to his wife and daughter talk about it, all while his phone bill mounts up. Then he spots those twin gimps after his trip to buy a chainsaw at B+Q... What for the show then? ;)

I will watch a film or play a game online with mates, don't go out because its expensive (and I have stopped drinking more than the occasional drink atm for my op on Wed morning and to keep up with uni) and the tv doesn't interest me, plan to get a freesat pvr up and running though as i like some of the shows but they are awkward times, and naff all on during the afternoon except jeremy kyle

Saturday night for me is always a social thing involving food, drink and friends. Sometimes there might be dogs. However, if it's just me and a mate at my house then the TV is usually on. It keeps him company while I'm in the kitchen, and it provides something to point and laugh at.

I've seen a lot more X-factor than I'd like to admit. Possibly half of half of them. Most of the friends I visit don't actually have a TV, so I really do only see it if I happen to be at home in between cooking things.

I confess, I quite like it. There's a surprising amount of genuine talent on there, and although they still do the ritual humiliation thing it's not what the show is really about. The awful stuff is like a comic interlude in-between the actual acts.

I wouldn't watch "strictly" unless I fancied one of the dancers and she was wearing the sexiest outfit ever. I do love to watch hot girls with nice legs get jiggy, but generally MTV is a better bet for that.

Louisa Lytton
Rachel Stevens
Emma Bunton

That said, I voted nothing, because I try to have better things to do. And even if I don't, I still have my standards. (Not to mention a whole heap of better television to watch at any given moment.)
