The main story here is a bit of a non-story, as the game comes with Steamworks and uses Steam to activate, rather like FEAR 2, so it makes sense for the digital retailers to not sell it, as they are essentially backing the competition (steam).

Aside from that, it sounds like IW are taking FAIL to new levels.

I'm wondering did they anticipate this somewhat when you consider the higher price. Of course, now the higher price will only compound any sales problems... And how much do you wanna bet that £45 will become the standard price point for the console COD games now? :?

You guys do realise it's available for less clicky

£26 is a huge drop in price from the £45 quoted earlier.

Will pop down to local asda and see if they have any in stock.

Brother picked it up from Sainsburys today and they had plenty. Slightly peeved at pre-ordering for £40 now! Oh well.

Sainsbury's in Cardiff (both that stock games) were sold out by 11am, I managed to bag one in Tesco before they sold out.

I even managed to guilt my parents into buying Uncharted 2 :D, but I don't get it 'til Xmas. :(

My clan have had a COD4 server for a year, most of us have the game.

I think out of 10 of us that played it, only 2 have the new game....because of this crap with matchmaking and no dedis. Check the IW forums, it also seems that people are having difficulty creating even 6v6 games, and some can't even get "match maked" into any games!

Massive fail by Activision, just because they want PC players to put up with the same crap console gamers have to...

Got MW2 for the 360 today. Great game, only problem is that you can't be in a party and play search and destroy, not as much fun when you can't talk to your friends :(
