Quote:
O2 has sweetened its iPhone tethering package by throwing in free broadband access.

The tethering package allows iPhone customers to use their phone as a 3G modem, and costs £9.79 a month for 3GB data. However, customers who sign up by 31 December will also receive O2's 8Mbits/sec broadband package completely free.

Alternatively, should customers want a faster broadband service, O2 will discount the value of the standard deal (£7.34 per month) from the cost.

O2’s Standard package usually costs £7.34 a month, while the Premium and Pro packages cost £9.79 and £17.13 a month respectively.

The deal arrives as O2's exclusive iPhone deal with Apple comes to an end, and is a clear attempt to hold onto customers possibly attracted by Orange's greater 3G coverage.

It should really be "free" broadband.
Free. My arse it's free!

Aye. Glad we're starting to see slight benefits to the iPhone packages now it's been opened up though. It sucked at first. Now hopefully Orange will go a little better, and so on, and so on, and I'll end up with miPhone.

Dammit, I should have waited but the iPhone has proved invaluable in the past few months.

I'd like the option for the money off the contract, especially as I can't get their broadband

That would be no use to me. I get a cheap deal for land line, phone call and ADSL. If I took there ADSL I'd have to pay more for the others. I'd rather just have a lower line rental.
