The problem is that the family have a stupid surname - Janes rather than James. If I'm busy then I'll assume that it's a typo and correct it back to James.
If I'm also blind in one eye and only partially-sighted in the other eye then I won't be able to write with a normal thin pen.

To be honest, she's lucky she got anything IMO. The son knew that he could die, the mother knew he could die. He died. It's sad, but it was one of the risks of the job...
To get a personal letter from the head of our country, I think, shows how important all of this is to the PM, he doesn't really have time to sit and write letters, but he took some time out to write it.

It's convention - previous Prime Ministers have also done it. And may I also remind you that the head of our country is Her Majesty The Queen.

Absolutely. He's arguably the most important man in the UK and possibly the busiest too, yet he still finds time to write to the parents of people who died. Lets be honest, the guy was in the army - these things are going to happen. However, some Sun reader decides that some spelling mistakes in a handwritten letter are worse than a mail-merged letter from civil servant and decides to go to the press about it. Something really wrong there.

Yes, I heard this this morning and thought that this has moved a long way on from a woman complaining about a letter. She’s been co-opted by The Sun to do their dirty work. I bet she is being paid for all this too.

Of course she is, shame she didn't realise that by doing so, she has turned from a bereaved parent into a money-grabbing wench in the public eye!

I heard an interview with someone from the Sun's editorial team this morning where he claimed she wasn't being paid a penny. Which struck me as even worse - she's being exploited and she's not even making any money out of it. Jon

I do feel sorry for her. It can never be good for anyone to lose a child. However, that's the biggest hole that she has had to dig herself out of.

In terms of silliness, this just keeps getting better: Mandelson attack on 'crude' Sunhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8354131.stmI wonder what Mandy has up his sleeve to justify that outburst
