No. I need a land line for my ADSL. Mobile internet is pants.

As others have posted, I need landline for internet use only - otherwise I have no care for it.

One caveat is mobile phone reception - I previously lived in a block of flats where mobile phone reception was terrible. I had to resort to landline use but only for very urgent calls that couldn't wait until I was out in the open.

Also, if there was a terrorist attack, would landlines survive such attacks? I presume mobile phones would all be knocked out.

If I could still have decent unlimited Internet, then I wouldn't really need a land line. I'd probably use SIP or Skype instead.

The only problem with just a mobile would be that my family could never phone me because calls to mobiles are so prohibitively expensive. 0.5p / minute to anywhere in Europe and free within the country, but 4000% more than that to call a mobile? WTF? I can call my Mum in France for over an hour for less than it costs to make a 10 second call to a mobile. I pretty much refuse to phone the damned things.

I could definately survive without a landline. I only have one as it was required to get broadband. Getting rid of it would save me about a tenner a month too!
