As the title pretty much gives away Im just wondering if Vista SP2 is really much of an enhancement over SP1 - esp. seeing as its 345.5mb :O

Yes, Blu-ray support amongst other things - including performance enhancements.

It doesn't improve Vista as much as SP 2 did for XP, but there again, Vista was in a better place than XP pre-SP2... But it is a worthwhile upgrade.

Hmm, not so sure, having just installed it last night and booting this morning my PC is a full minute and a half slower to boot o.0 (Thats 30 seconds to 2 mins)

First restart after the update or on subsequent updates? My Toshiba laptop would boot in around 20 seconds, my Q6600 desktop in about the same.

First restart....
Subsequent restarts have been faster though - 50secs instead of 2 mins, but its not brilliant

Mine takes about a minute, its a liquid cooled (Corsair H50) i7 920 at just under 4ghz and 12gb of ram. It depends on what programs you have installed also, nothing to do with Vista itself. Even if you remove startup programmes or stop services, there is no way of stopping some things as they don't appear in services or startup. For example, about 55,000 friggin Logitech processes start up just for one lousy web cam. Then there is stuff you can't stop like Punkbuster if you play games that need it. Then Flex licensing for Adobe, etc etc.

Do you really need all that sig space? It's a bit overkill Cookeh

It would be, it clears out your prefetch so it has to be rebuilt from scratch. It'll speed up after a while.
