Any opinions on these ? 17" 1920x1080 res, Radeon 4570 (and 4200), 320gb drive, 4gb DDR3 ram, Win 7 HP for just under £600. Anything better for the money ?

Sounds good. We had a 17" HP ProBook in a couple of weeks back, came with a similar spec, cost 650€... And you could tell! I have a Toshiba Tecra (1200€, 15" 1680x1050) and I was setting up a MacBook Pro 13" for my girlfriend's daughter at the same time... And the HP was horrible.

Oh, it had a lovely glossy black finish, but the case flexed and the keyboard pushed away from the surrounding case when you pushed a key! The whole thing flexed and, to be frank, it was junk!

I'll certainly be buying Tecro, MacBook Pro or the HP Elite series in the future, but cheap laptops? Well, you get what you pay for...

There isn't much way of checking it out before, they don't have them in anywhere like PC World or Tesco.
