However, there are concerns that people will be forced to buy new PC cases just to accommodate the card, which measures a massive 13in in length. Marinkovic claimed that "any ATX case should be able to fit [the HD 5970]," although we remain sceptical.

Oooh-er, etc

I think ATi need to realise that PC gaming is declining and they need to move into computational graphical processing or whatever its called, e.g. Cuda type stuff. Some of the stuff available with CUDA is quite spectacular, let alone the Tesla personal supercomputer.

I won't be buying a DX11 card until there is something DX11 to use with it. My GTX 275 already plays everything available at DX10 and DX10.1 was a waste of time.

The newest game I've played and enjoyed is Rainbow Six: Las Vegas 2 on the Xbox 360. Truthfully though, the last PC game I enjoyed was Delta Force TFD in 2002.

The problem I have is that a lot of the newer games may have brilliant graphics but the gameplay really sucks. For instance, many people loved FarCry but me and a lot of my friends hated it. The reason? The trigens. The first couple of levels were amazing but once the freaks turned up I turned off.

Since then I tried to play a few games but, quite simply, far too much time was spent on the looks and not nearly enough time making me want to play it. If the game is worth playing I don't really care what it looks like - my current games of choice are OpenTTD (Transport Tycoon Deluxe) and Sonic the Hedgehog on a Master System emulator. Fun is everything and this card does nothing to assist that.
