Hello guys
My PC has been getting slower and slower and my hdd is getting increasingly noisy, just wondering if these are symptoms of a dying hard drive (its getting on for 6 yrs old now)
Are there any other symptoms to look or for, or anything to note?
Thanks in Advance
Alistair

To be honest dude, I would back up your files anyway and start looking for a new one, HDD's go for cheap these days.

Symptoms vary. A regular loud knocking noise is one of them, but if it is XP it will start getting slower and slower from day one, as the registry fills with crud and bloat. If a reinstall doesn't sort things out, the drive is probably on its way out. As kalisclark says, start backing stuff up before it is too late.

Just in case you didn't get the message already!

Death, taxes and hard drive failure are the only inevitable things in life.

If you don't have 3 copies of something, then you've already lost it.
