Hi all,

I decided to put Windows XP Pro (32-bit) onto my Mac Pro. The interface is quite jittery, and Explorer keeps freezing (unfreezes after 20 seconds or so).
CPU-Z shows the correct CPU's, though recognises only 1910MB of the 6GB of RAM (I know it's 32-bit, but I thought this should be more like 3.5GB).

The install is clean apart from a Sims 2 install and all the updates up to SP3 (though not including SP3).

Any ideas?

Many thanks,
Ben

EDITED to add:
I've installed all the Boot Camp drivers and still no joy...

Could be a multitude of things.

Is there a CDROM drive unplugged power-wise in the mac? That sometimes makes XP go barmy. Dodgy stick of RAM? Does it do it in OSX?

It's more like how long is a piece of string with things like this. Have you got another version of XP to try? If not, PM me and i'll have a scrat in my OS box. I promise it'll be geniune. :)

Everything is fine on the OS X side, and indeed when I tried Win 7 Pro it was OK...
I'll do a hardware test on the Mac side when I get home.

I'm going to download a copy of Win XP Pro 64-bit (from my student MSDN subscription), see if that helps....

As far as I can tell, the boot camp installer installed some NVidia stuff. Only have one graphics card, but it's dual head...
