Ask the people with their fingers on the big red nuke launching buttons.
Thankfully George W is no longer one of them.

*sigh*

I've said it time and time again...on these forums...H&S would not be necessary if we, the general public, weren't so quick to blame our own problems on anyone else. The culture of fear that has set in amongst GO's and NGO's alike has now led to everything being banned just in case some nerk decides that his "accident" is not his own fault and sues the organisation "responsible" for millions. Even if it's thrown out of court, the organisation still has to foot the bill in the traditional 'no win no fee' setup.

In my former life as a MOD events coordinator, we had people sue for tripping over a tree root, because there was no fence to stop them taking the shortcut. Sued because the horse some tw** was riding threw it's rider as the Typhoon taking off....from the runway she was riding alongside...startled the horse.

If you want to blame anyone, blame the public for taking advantage of the laws set up to protect against negligence. Or maybe the lawmakers who have yet to stitch up the loops. Don't go blaming the people who try and save out money from being frittered away by thick berks who don't know the difference between someone else's responsibility and their own...

This blame and claim culture we've imported from America has a lot to answer for.
