I never got into 24, however I'm giving it a go due to peer pressure.

I've just watched Jack kill Ryan Chappelle. My reaction was something like this:
:o :o :o :o           :o :o :o :o

I have decided that Jack Bauer is made of evil.

I could stand about 5 minutes of that programme.

I haven't seen one episode.

Not through any particular objection, I just couldn't be arsed.
Same goes for Prison Break, and numerous others.

I just don't have the time, really.

I watched the whole of the first season, thought it was brilliant but as often with these things, started creaking towards the end.

Tried a couple of episodes of season 2, thought the show had no idea where it was going, gave up.

I'm told (and have read) it got steadily worse for a few seasons before picking up again, but each to their own ;)

Its awesome. Sure some of the series are a little slower but I havent yet missed a single one. I also thinks it helps if you have it on DVD rather than watch one episode per week.

The first series, I watched in real-time. I bought the DVD series and watched it over a 24 hour period! (well, given the 45 minute shows for commercials, I slept for couple of hours befor watching the final 2 discs...)

I did nearly the same with the second, I think I watched it in 36 hours. The third just seemed to get silly, the 4th was even worse, at which point I gave up.

There are just so many times a counter terrorist unit can be infiltrated by terrorists, before it is shut down! What nearly made me give up with 1 and 2 was the constant kidnapping of his daughter, she would get kidnapped, escape, kidnapped again, rescued, kidnapped... Yawn.

As is exist to serve.
