So, what do we think? ;)

It makes a lot of sense to me, so long as it's done without affecting resources where they're needed (which seems unlikely)... And TG's had it's budget slashed so badly seemingly, that it could really do with the army etc stepping in :(

Top Gear is always good publicity for the armed forces, a free advert if you will.

It gets them lots of air time for free, giving the impression (rightly or wrongly) that the services will be a fun career.

I have to say that I agree with the MoD on this one. It's an excellent advertisement for the armed forces.
Plus the TG guys are always very (well, you know what I mean) respectful for the forces personnel involved.

The nay sayers would have a point if the TG stuff was being done outside scheduled training exercises or the forces were doing the filming but it isn't.
