I have just taken ~2000 photos of the gf's recipes so that they are somewhat more portable than the A4 folders they originated from. Scanning wasn't an option, firstly for the lack of a scanner and secondly because a scanner would have quickly been smothered with pastry and chocolate.
What I need now is to organise them somehow and would welcome ideas on the best way of doing it.
Cheers

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Irfanview or whatever it's called? Or Picasa? I don't know much about such things, but a quick Google might help with those two

I had thought about Picasa but wasn't sure if it would then allow me to include other documents in the future such as pdf or doc. Being able to reference through a database or tag system is a must have.

It should do, as it runs a scan of your system IIRC...

Don't know how good it is and would depend on the quality of your photos and if you have the full version, but Acrobat has an OCR feature.

That works well on scans as I've used it before, but not tried yet on photos, also some of these recipes are handwritten and most have a good deal of ingredients (+e coli.???) on them.
