I don't get it, what's the benefit to the case of releasing the tape? :?

As stated by someone on the Twitter...

"First time in my life I've been able to out-drive Tiger".

Now where's my coat?

There's a lot of noise about this story, but not much substance.

My own speculation runs along the lines of someone's foot missed the brake and rammed the accelerator pedal - in an automatic, that's not unknown. That, to my mind, is the only logical reason why anyone can demolish a fire hydrant and pile into a tree on a driveway not 100 metres long.

But still, rumours and counter-rumours will fill the media until the truth, no matter how prosaic, comes out.

Yes, I'd go along with that Heather. Not sure we ever will know the full extent of everything, but then I'm not sure it matters too much either...

He was supposed to have been having an affair, his wife found out, chased him out the house, brandishing a golf club, he jumped in the car and drove off and wrecked it outside the house... :?

This is the sort of thing the rolling news channels will cook up. The BBC News site tells it differently.

I think the news media needs to shut up until they have proper facts to report. Speculation, sadly, is their stock in trade.

Presactly. And I'm not much interested in celebrity-gossip-type-stuff anyhoo. I want real news!

Seriously? Gossip and PR puff from people not even involved. The NY Daily report is also cooked up from hear say from another site.

There don't seem to be any facts at all, beyond a crash and Woods in hospital refusing to comment on the matter because it's his private business. You know what? It is his business, and absolutely nothing to do with anyone else. No-one died, no-one apart from Woods was injured, so where's the story?

This sort of crap annoys me.

This sort of thing is classed as entertainment in the USA. A bit like court cases.

I can't believe this has been the lead story for the past couple of days.

What does that say? People are more concerned about a golfer who has a bad day like than they are anything else?

I guess so, and they remain firmly none of our business.
