Our site is shut from close of play on Christmas Eve until 4th Jan, so we have to take the time off.

I currently have 13.5 days still to take this year. I'm working the 26th of Dec. and the 1st of Jan., which means more time in lieu.
It's like a vicious circle.
I may take the first full week of the new year off.

That could be a good idea. I get next to no holiday this half of the year, and loads next, so I'm having to scrape hours together to get Christmas Eve off to avoid the joys of the rail network late on Christmas Eve.

I have the strangest feeling I may be working over Christmas.
