The roles you have to fill are...

Captain: Me

First Officer (Riker): Andy Wilman
(Top Gear Producer. If he can organise aircraft carriers and jet fighters for them, he's good enough for a 1st officer)

Security (Worf): Ray Park
(think of the stunts Darth Maul could do in a fight.)

Engineering (LaForge): Grant Imahara
Another Mythbuster, but he's better at electricals.

Science Officer (Data): My friend Paul Williams
(Works for BBc natural history unit.)

Medical Officer (no EMH allowed) (Crusher): My dad
(he's a pharmacist)

Navigation (Seven? - Voyager): Ellen MacArthur
(If she can sail round the world single handed, she must be good at directions)

Helmsman (Wesley Crusher): Jeremy Clarkson
(I need somebody who likes speed behind the wheel.)

Transporter Chief (O'Brien): Michael Winslow (from police academy)
(He could do all the sound effects and freak people out)

Ship's Counsellor (Troi): A cocker spaniel
(Dogs make people feel better)

Chef (Neelix - Voyager): Jamie Oliver
(He can make anything taste good.)

First Officer (Riker): Archbishop Desmond Tu-Tu, (only because I want to call him Number One-One) ;) :P
Security (Worf): Hulk Hogan
Engineering (LaForge): Suzi Perry
Science Officer (Data): Brian Blessed. He probably doesn't know anything about science, but you've gotta love the voice!
Medical Officer (no EMH allowed) (Crusher): Dr. Lewis, (My old GP and a very nice man)
Navigation (Seven? - Voyager): Jon Bentley
Comms (Uhura - Original series): Ian Paisley, (what will the aliens make of that accent!?)
Helmsman (Wesley Crusher): Megan Foxx, just because she's nice to look at.
Transporter Chief (O'Brien): James May, (you need someone who's going to get it right here, or people die)
Ship's Counsellor (Troi): Undecided, but I am considering what's his name, the dog whisperer
Chef (Neelix - Voyager): Gordon Ramsay, (cooking and swearing FTW!)

As you can probably tell, I didn't take this too seriously ;)

Edit to add: Actually, the Comms and Science posts could be on a job share system, with both of the people doing both jobs, maybe working one week in each post...

Top Gear and transporters? One word: Splinching! (okay, not technological, but the same effect)

Nobody has mentioned Jamie Hyneman. I'm most dissappointed.

My boyfriend has asked if there will be wheelchair access for Stephen Hawking. He reckons you can't have him on the Enterprise as it was built for able bodied crew. He might have a point and I can't believe I'm typing this lol.

He'd definitely have trouble getting around the Jefferies tubes if the turbo lift ever went down (why did they always have to do this? Could they not put stairs in there?!).

He could probably use some LaForge like visor as an interface to control everything he needed to do.

Hawking did appear in a Star Trek episode once, as a hologram of himself. So, I guess wheelchair access in the 24th century isn't a problem.

Right, I'm off to find a box set.

I haven't had a Trekkie fix in fricking years!

In fact I think I'm going to do a full 7 season run of The Next Generation :D

A stairwell is generally not a good idea on a space ship (or indeed in a naval vessel, especially a submarine) in the case of a hull breach. The Jeffries tubes are compartmentalised and can be sealed off in segments to contain hull breaches or internal explosions (as can the turbolift shafts) in a way that wouldn't be wery easy to do with stairs. Plus, IIRC the 1701-D is around 20-24 decks tall which would be a lot of stairs.

He'd be the head of the team. All he needs to do is delegate. Besides, he could transporter around various bits of the ship. (8+)
