Excellent effective weapons against zombies, provided they're well used and sturdy. Shoveling really sharpens the edge, plus the weight and length gives a lot of power to the swing in either a slice or blunt impact. Sharp manageable Weapons over a meter in length are preferable in a zombie attack, because they do not require ammunition and they keep the threat at a distance. Also good against triffids.
