Linux Beer FTW!

Jack Law needs to wind his neck in.

Each bottle is about £20 and that money will buy me 24 litres of Frosty Jack cider.

Why shouldn't they brew it? You can buy whiskies up to 61%, so what's wrong with 30%? It's make clear that you should drink it as a shot, it'll just be a beer flavoured shot.
Why anyone would want a beer flavoured shot is another matter. Beer (and lager, cider etc) taste like [LIFTED].

You clearly haven't had proper cider.

I suspect this may have been a ploy to get around the minimum drinks pricing scheme

Release a 40% beer, it gets charged as such so you have a product for shots cheaper than vodka as spirits minimum price would be higher

That is the cynic in my anyway

Or a proper beer.

So you'll be dead then? You really should use a mixer with pure ethanol.
And do bear in mind that absolute ethanol may contain traces of Phenol (and I mean C6H5OH not the phenols you get in whiskey) which really won't do you any good at all.

The Polish vodka I was given a while back was 99.6% ABV, which is close enough to pure ethanol as makes no difference.

It never actually made it to your stomach. Each sip was absorbed directly through the skin of your mouth, and was completely gone before it even reached the back of your throat.

I wish I could get some more. It was awesome. I made trifles that were more alcoholic than whisky :D

Banned! The UK's Strongest Beer Goes Flat - from the makers of TNP...

http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Busine ... 9088?f=rss

If they could change the wording quick enough, this would probably boost sales...

You can theoretically brew real beer to 18.2% which is pretty much the upper limit before yeast gets pissed and dies, but I have to question the TNP. Beer should be made from Malt, Water and Yeast. I rather suspect this can't be sold as bier in Germany!

Yip, you've gone too far when even the yeast is p1ssed ;)

Have to say, curiosity alone would make me give TNP a shot, no pun intended :)

I wonder if they would get away with selling it here...

For brewing beer, there is the "Rheinheitsgebot" (Beer purity order, 1571) which only allows the use of water, barley, and hops. You can't include anything else in the process and sell it as beer. I know if means a lot of British and Belgium beers, for example, aren't available over here.
