I don't question that some women feel the cold more. What I don't understand is how they can think 22 is too cold in the winter, but think it's too hot in the summer. When it was 18 in the summer, no one even suggested turning on the heating despite wearing fewer clothes. 20, but we do call the thermostat 'the lie machine'. We often find it says 20, but it's really cold, so then we'll whack it up to 23. Sometimes it says 20 and feels really hot. We have underfloor heating downstairs, which takes an age to warm up if you let it get cold, so the thermostat is set to never go below 16.

We have it set to 20 for mornings and evenings and then 18 during the day. Any more than that and I just can't work. 21.85 actually  _________________Jim

Yes. The flat I used to live in was surprisingly cold, especially over the winter months where indoor temps vould drop below 5*C. _________________ He fights for the users.

Best Beloved installed a wireless thermostat gizmo in the summer. For the winter, the idea is it fires up the heating if the temperature dips below 19C, and goes off again around 20-21C.
So far, it's been keeping the house at a reasonably constant temperature.

I have the "luxury" of not paying for my electricity this year, though I have no central heating, I do have an electric heater in all rooms.
Over the last few weeks I've had them on. With the drafty, single-glazed, sash windows, it doesn't get too warm in here. After a while it's what I would call "comfortably toastie", but that only happens if I've been still for a few hours and the heating has increased gradually.
We don't have a thermostat, or a thermometer, but I'd guess it goes anywhere from single figures (morning) up into the low twenties of an afternoon and evening...

20 for me but sometimes I walk passed the stat and it has strangle gone up a couple of notches
