<scene : Simon Cowell's extremely luxurious office. Simon is sat in a voluminous leather office chair behind a large desk polished to a mirror shine. The waistband of his trousers is just visible above it. In walks Simpleton McAnonymous, most recent X Factor winner. He/she looks nervous.> Cowell : So, Simple, bit of a disappointment about the debut single, wouldn't you say? Simpleton : I really dunno what happened Boss. We had big ratings. I did all the promotion. I did GMTV four times. In a week. We paid to have the song played every 10 minutes on commercial radio. I was on the front of cereal packets and evryfing. I just dunno... Cowell : And yet... you still only made Number Two, didn't you? Kept off the top by <looks at paper on desk> 'Too Drunk to F[Lifted] by the Dead Kennedys?' Simpleton : I know Boss. It was those fellas on the internet. Did us a wrong un' they did. A few of 'em sold kidneys to buy more copies of it. Cowell : Ah well, never mind er.. <unsure> lad. There's always the second single. And remember you have to get in rehearsals for your tour. Now, run along, I have business to attend to. Simpleton <backing out through the door>: Yes Boss. I won't let you down Boss. No worries... <as Simpleton exits, Cowell leans over to a small desk mike and presses the button on it's base> Cowell : KILL HIM! He's nowhere near that cool. Actually, maybe, yes. Maybe Hayden Christiansen Darth Vader. Jon

I think the thing is that I really don't care about the x-factor, hence I don't waste time caring about what will be number 1.

I think it would be incredibly naive to think that each person in that group will really buy that song. Even if some of them buy it twice it'll not amount to 428,000 sales from members of that group. Mark

So you never try anything in life unless you are 100% sure you will be successful? If that was the mentality of the human race we would still be swinging on the trees eating bananas.

I said that thinking that everyone in the that Fb group would buy that song seems to me to be naive. Do you think that everyone that joins that group will actually buy a version of the RATM song? Mark

No I don't think everyone will buy. Most people will buy it, some will buy it twice and some even three times.
