The OCUK guy's talking out of his arse.

Much like when they tried to tell me that my "brand new" monitor had fingerprints all over the screen because it must have been from the production line...

Just so happened to have a "protective" sheet over them and several stuck pixels. Production line testing wasn't the first thing that sprang to my mind...

jonbwfc I was behind her in a queue today - but I wouldn't describe it as 'bushy'.

I've only ever had to RMA one product. That was a Samsung monitor. Scan (who I bought it from) dealt with everything very well.

UPDATE - spoke to Carl this morning and he recieved my new mobo from Holland, will be sent out to me today for sat or monday delivery.

Regarding the faulty board his exact words were " i had a look and cant understand why there is a pin and contact missing as well as 1 bent pin, if the damage was caused by you ( me ) there would be more than one bent pin, so oc should have covered it under warrenty "

So good news for me and a massive thumbs up to foxconn!

never a truer word said, and while you here sas, is it as easy as setting the blk to 200 maybey giving it a little boost of voltage and manually setting my ram up , ( obviously basing this on my chip doing 4ghz )

whats with all the other multipliers like uncore etc....

and iv read ppl saying to keep one voltage within 0.5 of another etc, totally clueless at i7 o/c and the bloodrage bios is an overclockers wet dream and my worst nightmare!

RMAing to retailers can be hit and miss. I RMAed my gaming headset to Scan and they blew me off.

It went something like this:
Scan: We can't replace it as it is not in production anymore, choose something else
Me: I want a new model of the same brand instead
Scan: You can't, it is more expensive
Me: Yeah by £5, my old one was £80 and this new one is £85
Scan: Doesn't matter, you can't have it
Me: Can you give me credit of the price of the old headset so I can buy expensive one and pay extra cash to get it?
Scan: We don't do credit, ask for something cheaper.
Me: You don't have anything that is 5.1 surround sound of even remotely same quality
Scan: Though
Me: Give me my money back
Scan: We can give you £35 back as your headset was used. (9 months old)
Me: You gotta be kidding!!
Scan: We are dead serious, we are trying our best here and we are tired of you now. Do you want it or not?
Me: Yes, I want my £35

So I got £35 for the headset worth £80 and went to buy the same headset as my old one from another retailer.
So I don't shop at Scan anymore.

On the other hand I RMAed my Ram at OCUK. They sent me a new set without problem, I was on holiday that time so I couldn't collect from courier. It was sent back to OCUK and they sent it to me again without saying a world.

Pretty weird eh?

One more thing:
If you buy a motherboard from EVGA you will ALWAYS send it back to EVGA if it goes wrong. That is their policy and it says so on their boxes. I bought two ASUS board before but I am not gonna risk it anymore. My current board is EVGA and I intend to buy EVGA products as they take customer service seriously.
