Linux; apparently we're the only people who actually care enough to comment. I've found your comments interesting, and I'm curious about your legal training. Are you a law student?

Nope I'm student but I'm not studying law. My 'field of expertise' is Consumer Law (both Civil and Criminal, food labelling, licensing, that sort of thing), with some knowledge of general Criminal Law (theft, fraud etc) thrown in too.

I appreciate the conflicting viewpoint - it's healthy to debate these things.

The initial comment I made was deliberately controversial, but I wasn't drunk, I was at work, I thought long and hard about posting it, I rewrote it a few times, and as I stated afterwards it was merely a statement of how much I dislike and distrust in fact hate Peter Mandelson and everything he stands for. I wish there was something stronger I could say than comparing him to a paedophile as he is far worse than that.

Of course I am totally against censorship, but in this case I can accept, if not like or agree with, the reasons for it on this forum to protect the people who own from legal action by people who can afford to pay and indeed control the law.

Furthermore linux_user I think you are an interfering busybody, I liken you to Hyacinth Bucket, I really don't think it was on you to report my post you're not a mod, admin or site owner, if you don't like it, don't read it or report it. If you're going to take a moral stand pick someone worthy of your support.

Thanks but no thanks on the 'advice' there. I have no desire to see Saspro in Court defending a libel writ and I reported the post on that basis. I stand by my decision and I will continue to report posts that I think cross the line into libel - which is very rare I have to say. I may not be a "mod, admin or site owner" but much like the Police they can't act if they don't know. At the end of the day if a mod/admin didn't agree with me the post would not have been edited. Simples.

If you have a problem with that then that's your prerogative, I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.

It wasn't your decision to make, you can come back and say that it was but all you really have to back that up is a misplaced sense of immature self importance. You can provide all the lofty moral high ground arguments you like at the end of the day but you are nothing more than a classroom informer, or a grass. Your smugness about it all sickens me as much as your use of advertising speak to make a point.

As I said earlier - a mod/admin agreed with me, which makes your point moot.

Have you ever thought that for the sake of "losing face"/ respect /credibility (as it is) that you are avoiding admitting fault, guilt or ill judgement relative to the micro social veiw of such a statement on the forums therefore you have lost far more credibility and respect from your fellow forumites than if you origionally admitted wrong. And are losing more for every post which shows defenisive nature.

We are all wrong you know (at some point, on some matter and on differing occasions) and the likelihood of you being wrong is much greater if you aren't able to percieve when you are wrong because of cognitive dissonence.
