What if it were the X factor finalists covering "Killing In The Name?" Compromise?

And the Christmas No.1 is not a "great tradition" that X Factor has "taken all the fun out of."

1999: Westlife - "I Have A Dream"
2000: Bob The Builder - "Can We Fix It?"
2001: Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman - "Somethin' Stupid"
2002: Girls Aloud - "Sound of the Underground"
2003: Michael Andrews & Gary Jules - "Mad World"
2004: Band Aid 20 - "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

Case closed.

No, the X-Farts shouldn't be allowed near ANY good song

Even most of the people on that list recognised the need for a beat and/or a chanty/noticeable vocal bit, which is more than can be said for the last bunch of £X-Factor winners. And anyway, the Xmas No.1 has probably more often than not been cheesy, but at least it hasn't been damn-near guaranteed to the extent that bookies are refusing to take bets on it...

My bets for the final four:

Winner: Olly
2nd: Jo

I'm struggling to decide which way round 3rd and 4th will be. I'll go for

3rd: Daniel
4th Stacey

Although I would prefer Stacey to win (even though Joe is technically the best singer), I feel that potato-head Olly has the teenage girl vote sewn up.

Winner: Olly
2nd: Joe
3rd: Stacey
4th: Danyl

Well done Stacey! That was quite tense....

Classic miming from Lady Gaga and the appalling Janet Jackson. Talk about phoning in a performance!

PlayStation to get X-Factor?

Quote:
Grand karaoke vizier Simon Cowell has apparently been in discussions with Sony about sprinkling some of that ahem X-Factor magic dust into the world of gaming.

Speaking in an interview with GQ and spotted by MCV, Cowell admitted that one of the few areas to escape his beady all-seeing entertainment eye had been gaming.

"I should have had 20 games, " said Cowell. "If you've got a game that's worth more than our shows and we're in 100 countries, something is a bit out of control."

We're thinking he's probably talking about Guitar Hero there, a fact confirmed by the Cowell's next pronouncement, "X-Factor should have been the initial vehicle to have Activision come to us and say: 'You've got all the traffic. Can you help launch Guitar Hero?'"

An X-Factor Guitar Hero axis? Surely there's only so much reality can bare? But Cowell was unabashed claiming "I'd put guitars on my show to get Guitar Hero."

Anyway apparently Cowell and new partner business partner Philip Green (of Top Shop fame) have been talking to Sony CEO Howard Stringer, with Green confirming the meet.

"I said [to Sony]: 'Look at what we can do together. You've got massive manufacturing capability. You've got retail business. You've got PlayStation. You're one of the biggest TV suppliers in the world. He [Simon Cowell] is one of the most watched men on TV!... Suddenly, people started to say: 'You're right.'"

What could this fateful meeting portend as two entertainment moguls go head to head in a brainstorming session that could surely shake the foundations of entertainment reality?

Well we hardly dare to guess, though perhaps we should leave the last word to Green who said, "Look at Guitar Hero. It's a billion dollar business. [Simon's] got more viewers, more hits, more everything - and he hasn't even got a website!"

Strange days indeed.

The right result last night. Olly and Jo were the best.
I hope Olly wins tonight, but I think Jo will.

Bah, I watched Sports personality. Should have put some cash on the winner back a few months ago when I was telling everyone he'd win despite being 13/1 at the time.

On the Xtra Factor they revealed the winners for each week of the competition and Joe has been the outright winner for the last 4 weeks. Rather he won than Olly though.
