One version of the song has explicit lyrics, which perhaps should have been clarified by the campaign if that makes any difference to the end result

On the facebook page they linked "live" version too and apparently it counts as well, so explicit version might be ok after all.

I went for the explicit lyrics version myself Can't find anything about whether the multiple entries add up to one chart position or not

Hm, not read through all this so I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but has nobody stopped to consider the fact RATM are on Epic which is part of Sony BMG, a company with which Cowell has very big ties...
Sony win no matter what, in fact they win even more because RATM have been chosen. Kerrching.

It's more to stop the X-Craptor winner getting to No.1 We all know record companies take 92% of you're earings (after you've paid back the advance from that 8%)

True. TBH I couldn't give a monkey's about what was at number 1. That said, since Cowell made his comments I can't honestly say I wasn't a tad peeved at him making it sound like whoever won the x-factor had a right to be number 1. Surely it's the buyers who decide and the buyers who decide what they want to purchase.

You don't need to buy all of them. On that Facebook page click on the info tab and you'll find all information you need, including links to the song on different websites.

I can't find an iTunes chart that makes sense at the minute, but everywhere else I've been to so far has RATM at No.1

I haven't watched the show properly - more just dipping in and out of whilst having to do other things round the house. The last and only "talent contest" show I watched properly was the one with the Nigel dude.
Anyway what happened to the dude with the 'fro? He seemed to be pretty good.

According to Cowell, the Facebook campaign is “cynical”. http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/music ... 003411.stmSo I’m guessing that Cowell expects his show to produce a Christmas No 1 then? He sees it as a given it seems.
