Rory Cellan-Jones, BBC tech corespondent on just asked on Twitter for pictures of ancient devices. He is doing something about tech from the naughties (following fast on the Gadget Show, I think). But he posted a picture of a 1st gen GameBoy, so I guess he means ancient to be “as far back in time as you can go”. So I dug out my old Z88. It still works, though the batteries I put in it didn’t have enough juice to access the EPROM, so who knows what ancient essay fragments are there... So, what’s your oldest bit of kit (this isn’t it - older stuff at my parents’ house)? Photos encouraged.

I have a Canon QL 25 at home. It used to be my Grandpa's and he said I could use it. It was manufactured in 1965 so that makes it fairly old

Best Beloved has an old German SLR, as well as a couple of old box cameras. I'll see if I can get some photos sorted later.

I have a couple of ZX81s, and a 300 baud modem, in the loft. I think my old Atari 2600 is still in my parent's loft.
Thats about the oldest tech I have.
OT, I do have a 69 year old packet of cigarettes.

My brother had the MTL5, I still have my MTL3 at home. To be honest, I took better pictures with that than I have with the Canon EOS...

In the computer category, it would be my ZX Spectrum 48k+.
In the camera category, it would be my Asahi Pentax S3.
I'll see if I can get pictures later, the Spectrum is in the garage which is a bit of a pain.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

I'd almost forgotten, my Memotech MTX500 is sitting in a shop window in Stadthagen, it still works - I think...
