There is more than 850k people in the group and they have different reasons, but Joe himself is not it. The group was started before the winner was announced so it has nothing to do with him.

My reason is to rebel against the current state of the pop music and they way the society behaves. I don't care about Xfactor, I would like to send a message to masses to wake up. Xfactor is not music, it is a reality show created to make money of stupidity of people who need to be entertained by seeing people being humiliated on live television.

I would also like to send a message to people that if you are not happy with something you should get off your bum and try doing something about. It is a great lesson for all of us. Just look at this thread and see how many people said this campaign will not achieve anything. It is easier to complain about something but do nothing as doing nothing is always easier option.

I am also a huge RATM fan, the show they played on Reading festival last year was the best music experience of my life and this campaign will promote their music to people. Song itself is from 1992 and you can see yourself how powerful it is. All their songs have this incredible energy in them that just makes you feel like you can take on the world. I don't agree with all RATM's messages as they ultra hard core left wing and I am strongly right wing myself. But they say AT LEAST DO SOMETHING, don't just sit at home in a quiet protest (Heatherkay are you reading this?) and stand up for what you believe, whatever it may be.

This campaign brings balance, sickeningly sweet pop ballad that doesn't mean anything stands against this angry protest song about racism in the police in the USA (some of those work forces are the same who burn crosses). Author of one lives in the fantasy wonderland and the other one lives in the real world. One say everything is ok and all you need to is smile while other one is angry that things are not right and something has to be done.

Some people know nothing about xfactor and nothing about RATM so they don't understand the campaign and points it is trying to make. I accept that but then they should not comment on something they don't know anything about.

This wouldn't be an issue if it wasn't always times to get the Christmas number one. Lots of people still regard that as being special and don't like it being fixed.

The issue is that Simon Cowell is taking it as read that his show will generate a Christmas #1 - he pretty much expects it. Every year you get the same whiny ballads from his factory. He is a one trick wonder - it’s pastry cutter music. Dreadful, awful stuff. People wonder why I don’t listen to the radio. This is why.

Now, I am a believer in musicians and bands doing a proper “apprenticeship”. By that I mean doing the gig circuit - the small venues. The places where skills are honed. If they can actually learn to plan an instrument, then so much the better. This is how it has been done in time immemorial. Pink Floyd did it. The Who did it. The Beatles did it. You will find that bands today are still doing it - but now they are less likely to get picked up by a record label because it’s easier to get someone who can sing a bit, multi track and mix their voice and produce a package of something that is the musical equivalent of instant Smash.

It is truly bad news for music generally.

Ok, it is music just a very bad one. And I am not just saying that because I am biased. I've seen some performances this year and there is no way that you can say any of those muppets can sing. It is all they have do - sing. They don't have to write lyrics, compose music, play an instrument, come up with choreography of create and identity for themselves. They have army of people that do all of this things for them and those idiots can even sing.

So if you call that good music there is something seriously wrong with you ears. And don't think I only like rock, I like few pop acts as well but they have something going for them. Xfactor muppets can only create a hormonal storm in their pre-pubertal audience and make them scream their heads off...

Whilst I am certainly no fan of the X Factor - it's nothing more than a glorified karaoke contest at the end of the day - would you not agree that the lyrics to the winning song (here) could hold meaning for practically everyone of us, rather than a shouty adolescent number? Just a thought. You might not like the package it comes in, but the lyrical content speaks to all of us.

They aren't bulk buys

You only buy 1 of each single, each type counts, so there are 2 seperate album entries on the main album, 2 live songs, one from a compilation. Each one counts for the charts, and as you are not buying more than 1 of the single the result is not skewed in any particular way... I also got Jayz/Alicia Keys Empire state of mind though lol

The Chart people have contacted the FB group about bulk buys. They wont count towards the chart. 1 copy of the song, regardless of version per person. I cant see them being super strict over 2 or 3 copies but I guess some people are going silly and ordering 5-10 copies or more.

Actually, I wasn't. I have more important plans to make regarding at least doing something. Like making an effort to stand for the UK parliament. Like doing my bit to help the environment and cutting emissions, like giving my spare money to charities directly instead of via downloading a song in protest at Simon Cowell.
