A nice granary loaf, cheapest sliced white loaf I can find and nice rolls/French baguette (not all at once).

I hate sweaty toast as well, so in order of preference depending on time and availability I'll put the toast on a hot plate, kitchen towel or wooden chopping board before it goes near a cold plate, where condensation is a real issue.

Don't either of you have a "toast rack" ?

I detest soggy toast too, but it's never really been a serious problem. Personally, I just leave my toast in the toaster until I'm ready to eat it.

If for some reason I get distracted and it goes cold, then I press the "make cold toast hotter" button.

£2 Tesco Value toaster FTW!

Tesco tiger is much nicer than sainsburys - in my opinion anyway. The salt and pepper loaf even better.

Make my own often tho' - also rolls made from pizza dough v nice

It's part brown, part white.

There are stripes of both running down it. ;)

I don't think it would take 15 birds to eat it though?

One decent sized swan could polish off most of Tesco's supplies I reckon.

Tiger bread? It's white bread that's just got a glaze on it that gives it tiger spots. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Much like many formicivorous mammalian species.

Housemates insist on Warburtons for sliced bread.

I prefer asda/tesco/sainsburys own-brand bread - I find the texture much thicker and nicer. Doesn't last as long, and often goes dry, but then it's the BEST toast-bread in the world.

Get baguettes from time to time, tiger bread when we go shopping before dinner (cos then we'll have it on the side).

Most importantly - BAGELS AND ENGLISH MUFFINS!

Mmmmmmmm.

Bread.
