OK so I'm in the market for a new 'phone. I want a smart phone with decent touch screen.
Requirements:
At least 600 minutes, unlimited texts. Also internet inc. ideally. Good sized, responsive touch screen. Must be Vodafone or Orange. £25-£35/month.
I was looking at the HTC HD2 and the Samsung Omnia 2, but neither seem to be available.
So what 'phones should I be looking at?

Linux_User and no Droid or other Android phone on the list? The Motorola Droid (or whatever it is called in Europe) is supposed to be about the best non-iPhone at the moment. Google's Nexus-1 is rumoured for January...

I tend to go for the quality of the handset rather than the OS it's running. And TBH Windows Mobile really isn't that bad. iPhone is out of window due to the expense, and I have yet to see a decent handset running Android. Keep the suggestions coming though, and I will look into the new Google phone.

For the 18 months I've had my Omnia i900 now it hasn't crashed on me once. And TBH the Samsung GUI is so nice I am tempted to hunt down an Omnia II.

I haven't had that problem with my X1 or any software ones really, the faults I had were hardware. I'd keep an eye on the Google Nexus One HTC Hero? Motorolla droid bets my vote too, I like the proper qwerty keyboards now

Saw the new Sony Xperia reviewed in T3 and they said it was very good.

My htc Touch Pro is cack. It was great, when I bought it, but after a year, the touch screen is knackered, it usually takes around 20 taps to enter my pin number! If I press the 4, it often thinks I've pressed the 6 or 3 keys! I tried the original iPhone and the htc was better, but with the 3GS, the iPhone took the lead and the build quality of the htc really let it down. It is a shame, the htc *was* a great phone. The Droid is getting rave reviews at the moment and is being hailed for its quality. To be honest, despite the expense, I wouldn't get anything else at the moment. The new Nokia N900 is also worth a look.

Well it looks like a toss up between the HTC Magic and the Nokia X6.

The HTC HD2 will be available on Orange from January, and I believe that Vodafone have started selling it as a business handset, so I don't know if it will be available to home users, but it should be... The Samsung Omnia 2 was available in the Orange shop in Manchester a couple of weeks ago... haven't looked again, as I am waiting until January to get the HTC HD2 from Phones4U, who gave me the information about the release date.

Get Blackberry Storm2. I had it for a month now and I can honestly say it is awesome. The best thing about it the screen, go into a shop and try it yourself. When you touch a screen it highlights a letter or a link but you actually have to press it to make your selection. It also makes a clicking noise like a manual keybord. Typing texts or emails is really good so if you do that a lot it is no brainer. Storm2 can multitask too, people whose phone doesn't multitask should get a real phone btw, you don't know how much you are missing.
I got 600mins, unlimited texts and internet from Vodafone for £35 p. month, bought online. Only disadvantage is that people say Storm2's browser is slower than iphone, I can't confirm as I have never tried browsing on iphone.

I really like the look of the Storm 2, but the SurePress technology put me off - I prefer the no-nonsense of capacitative screens. I'll give it a go in the shop though.

Hm, having read some reviews I think the Storm 2 is out of the question. Looks like the HTC Hero TBH, the Google Nexus One is out and about next year and from what I've seen of it it looks ugly. Hopefully that means I'll get the Hero at a bargain price.

The HTC HD2 is VERY nice, just using one now Also, looking at the Sony Ericsson website the Xperia X10 looks like it will also be very nice. God dammit! I just made the decision to get the next iPhone and all these awesome phones come out!
