Hi all,

Wondering if you could help me. I am trying to install windows xp onto a pc that has an Abit NF7 mobo but its not working, the sata drivers are being loaded off of a floppy disk and I think they must be old or something because its not happening. Does anyone know where I can find up to date Sata drivers for this type of mobo. need to get this done before xmas or my little sisters gonna kill me lol.

Thanks

Kal

Which version of the NF7 is it?

What error are you getting?

Can you set the sata controller to IDE mode?

How do I find out the version?

Theres no error it just doesnt work properly, it loads into windows and looks funny and you cant install anything.

How can I change it to IDE mode? Is that done in the bios?

Thanks

Kal

The version should be on the board (on on the bios splash screen)

You can set the sata mode in the BIOS.

What did you fiddle with?

Is the HDD in the BIOS at all?

Have you tried a different sata cable, sata port, resetting the CMOS & starting again?

Failing that try a live linux cd to see if it finds it (or send it to me to fix)

Ok, it's not showing, all it shows is HDD 01, 02, 03 ect. And when I switch it on it just sits at boot from atapi cd rom.
