This is my first post on these boards from my shiny new Mac (actually, it's less shiny and more dull aluminium). 17" MacBook Pro, 2.93GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HDD. I'm going to upgrade the drive to a 500GB 7200 RPM and this one's going in an external enclosure. I do have unboxing pics (natch) and I'll be putting those up soon.

You heretic! I thought PowerPC was the only true way for you? Congratulation. I hope you have hours of fun.

A necessity, unfortunately. I needed the portability. Mark

I got 10.6 as a drop-in DVD, I've yet to do the upgrade. Mark

My mate gave me a Tucano Second Skin for the laptop the other day. It's a very snug fit but that's okay. I think I'll upgrade to 10.6 on the coming days.

I am guessing refurb store. A fine way to get a big saving on a Mac but you often have to miss out on the Appley box. Nice machine Mark. How is it stacking up against your previous baby?
