It was a placement, I think.

I thought placement as well. He announced his last day a couple of months back.
I got the girls new computers back in October, so they didn't get anything on Christmas Eve (got the oldest a MacBook Pro 13" and the youngest a Mac mini).
I got a navy blue Seidensticker Splendesto shirt from them and a 400g pack of monkey nuts.
We aren't really doing Christmas this year, as we've just bought a house together and we need to spend a lot on renovation. The fees aren't cheap either, I think we had to pay around 13K in taxed, solicitor's fee and the estate agent's commission...

That's what Christmas is all about. It's for the kiddies. We don't do presents any more, by mutual agreement. My immediate family is all over 40, and has pretty much everything they could ever want or need, so we just agreed it wasn't worth the effort and expense. Stupidly, the 'rents still send me a little bit of cash, as does my nan, but if that's what they want to do it is fine by me. It all goes in my savings to spend on nice things. A good friend of ours bought us a box of novelty Belgian chocolates in the shape of chuffer trains, which was nice. Om-nom-scoff-chomp. So, there we are again. Another year done, another one to climb, and, worryingly, next Christmas will be here before you know it.

My wife got me a T-rex 600 nitro heli But thinking of the mess I made of my hand with my 500, she may not have thought it through.

From the Purple One's family I was surprised to get: M&S pocket screwdriver that looks like a pen Scarf Smart boots Sim card reader (which was odd) Rubber band powered aeroplane Leather envelope holder Outdoor explorer kit (bag on a belt with two flasks)
And between the Purple One and myself we got a "bush tucker trial kit" (curried chocolate frogs and the like I think) and one of the Life DVD sets which is ace!
I'm seeing my parents in the next week, got presents to take down with me and presents to collect no doubt (a magic mouse and an old set of kitchen scales were what I asked for...)

Among other things I got a "No, I will not fix your computer" long sleeve top, a Star Trek triple pack sock set and, best of all, a remote controlled R2-D2. (8+)

I like! I often wondered if R2 was so designed to make animated toys easier. I've yet to see a convincing remote control C3-PO, although it's probably the more versatile and shiny design. Out of curiosity, how many legs does your R2 have? My little model only has 2
