I like!

I often wondered if R2 was so designed to make animated toys easier. I've yet to see a convincing remote control C3-PO, although it's probably the more versatile and shiny design.

Out of curiosity, how many legs does your R2 have? My little model only has 2

In the films, two big ones but it has a extra central small 'foot' that it can deploy for extra stability when moving at speed. The reason you've seen a lot more R2's than C3PO's is it's a lot easier to make a toy trundle than walk.

I've had R2-D2 going off on one as my ring-tone for a year or so. Doesn't half get me some funny looks when the phone rings. Does this qualify me as a 'techie'? :D

Three. They aren't articulated though.
When my mate gets back I'll shoot some video on his camera and put it online.
It's not really that sophisticated. The remote has a forward, back and sound button. Whilst moving forward the head also rotates from side-to-side just like the real R2. (8+)

A mate of mine uses that for his message alert.

I finished off my Christmas presents over the last few evenings; two bottles of red wine and a bottle of Laphroaig. Very nice they were too. My friends know my taste well :D

Also got £25 cheque from my Gran. I really wish she wouldn't because I'm sure she needs it more than I do. However, that is grannies for you. It'll go towards my media centre upgrade which I'm still trying to figure out. There may be a thread in the hardware forum coming up...

According to the back of the empty bottle, it's "La-froyg"

I say it like Floyd but different.
