That would require further research than my immediate assessment, I grant you, but assuming my first impression is accurate she's welcome. If she's smuggling any additional equipment than she appears then I would reconsider my offer.

Certainly my offer of being the next Mrs. Prof would be dependant upon her proving to my satisfaction that she is, in fact, all woman.

Who the flippin 'eck is Seasick Steve? I've never heard of him. For a moment, I thought they had geniunely dragged somebody in off the street. I did wonder. I'm sure a lot of it is faked, just some parts are more credible than others. It doesn't bother me all that much TBH, it's still one of the most entertaining shows on TV.

Seasick Steve is a great songwriter and guitarist who was homeless and made his guitar himself.

If you think about it, the vast majority of TV is 'fake'. Actors act, singers & musicians mime, presenters read from autocues, interviewees get briefed in the questions they're going to be asked... even before you get the nefarious faking like people in adverts saying products are great who are actually actors. Anyone getting their knickers in a twist as to whether the news segments on Top Gear are scripted or not frankly needs to get out more. As to Seasick Steve, I've seen him as a guest on a couple of shows but I've never actually seen him perform his music, nor have I heard anything he's done. I'm beginning to wonder if he's some sort of TV industry in-joke. Jon

I was looking at the laptop when that happened and rewound it to watch again. He was barely moving when he hit the boxes, and did appear to "sort of jump forward" which I'm guessing means they've either not heard of Sky+/VCR or they are just doing it for laughs and aren't worried abnout upsetting the nerds

Having said that, James May did look like he genuinely enjoyed it quite a bit, even if the accident was staged.

The whole show's tinged with desperation now I feel, and the presenters seem to know enough to admit it but obviously still have a show to make... I struggle to watch it now cos even something as small as the news section used to be really funny, now it's about pratfalls you wouldn't see in most comedies anymore It all just really annoys me cos it's one of the few shows blokes my age have left in the grand scheme of things.

Blokes your age probably should be out with the ladies, or skydiving, or backpacking, shouldn't they?! Not watching average television...

I've no idea, me and my mates all seem to be trying to save money for houses of our own, or working to that effect It's not like I watch much TV these days (I was pleasantly surprised to see Hustle back), I'm either online or playing the PS3 for the most part, reading the occasional book or mag. Oh, and TG used to be one of the best things on TV bar none for blokes everywhere, IMO it's rapidly going downhill partly cos the presenters themselves seem to have lost a bit of faith...

Agreed. Top Gear is shash compared to what it was. Hustle is on it's way back and will be here shortly Saving money for houses is for pussies! </sweeping generalisation> Rent, then be free to be young and responsibility-less.

Hustle's on tonight at nine I believe I want to own a house so that I can retire down the line, that's worth more to me than my younger years since I have simple tastes and pleasures and have always been 'older than my age' anyway Also, I want to avoid falling into the housing executive house trap that seems to have lead to a general decline in thinking ability with my own/extended family...

I was watching her rather than Jeremy as well. She was very attractive IMO. I tend not to watch the show these days as I find it quite samey, but did Jeremy Clarkson really take the cars to those places and waste all that money? That really annoyed me. It's an absolute waste of good money just for a lame gag.
