Also I didn't think the elements above 106 had been officially named because they hadn't been synthesised or collected in sufficient quantity yet.

They haven't been given proper names. The ones shown are essentially place holders that I assume have been specified by IUPAC.

If you want some rather good info about the periodic table then I strongly recommend the Periodic Videos site. The prof on it even has proper 'mad scientist' hair :D

I didn't try unobtainium! D'oh! I knew I'd missed one!

Or tritanium, or duranium!

82, but I started making some guesses at things I didn't know, I got deseperate and started with "nonsense" names, like einsteinium, when that worked, it was easy to get a few more, by entering famoums scientist nameiums... Some countries and universities as well... :?

Hmmm, there's a blast from the past. FID chromatograph.

That's embarrassing seeing as I'm a chemist. Still, In my defence I haven't had to use the periodic table for years. It's not that important when most of your work is Chromatography based analysing organic molecules.
Still, oh dear.

I got to 90, which is quite teriible as I use to do metals analysis on an ICP-MS. But then again no one asked if there was uiniuinuquodqudoiddlyipplyium in them thar plants

It's all TLC and radio-HPLC for me (14C).

I had a problem in that I was going through most of the compound molecules I know to try and get some of the elements...

Salt - Sodium Chlorine
Water - Hydrogen Oxygen
Carbon Dioxide - Carbon Oxygen

OK up to now...

and then I thought of methane, butane, ethane, propane, etc... and couldn't think of anything other than organice compounds! Hydrogen carbon! GAH already got them! LOL :D

I got 42 but when I looked at the answers, I recognised 80 of them.
