Well rusty's SuSE 11.2 review got me back in the mood to break out KTorrent and K3b and start testing distros again.
I am very impressed with SuSE 11.2. It's so polished and stable compared to Kubuntu 9.10 that the quality of it really took me by surprise. I know a lot of users of Linux don't like Novell, but TBH if you haven't used 11.2 you're missing out!
I'm about to try Mandriva 2010 (KDE version). I've always loved Mandriva, and I expect it will be a tough competition between Mandriva and SuSE 11.2 to see which one stays on the drive.
My one wish is that there were native 64-bit plugins and software (I'm looking at you, Adobe!).

Well I had a couple of sound issues with Mandriva 2010 (KDE edition) and it didn't detect my screen resolution properly, but these were very easily fixed in the excellent Mandriva Control Centre.
I think I'm going to stick with Mandriva for a while, I'm really enjoying it so far, a very slick distro.!

had a auto connection network problem with opensuse was the same with a manual connection set up
it has now been deleted from VB as i do not expect nor tolerate network errors with linux
but apart from that it seemed to run well but Ubuntu and Kubuntu run much better …

Hm I encountered a raft of stability issues with Kubuntu 9.10, but then KDE is on the backburner compared to Gnome with Ubuntu, so I'm not surprised.
I actually stuck with openSUSE in the end, although it's not without its problems. I have encountered a strange error whereby if I try and use the GTKThemes "QtCurve" or "Synchronisity" then the Username box on emesene is greyed out, meaning I can't login. Any other theme and the problem is resolved - not an ideal solution, but it's the one I've gone with.
