This is why I hate film studies! I know there are only so many stories. I've said that before. HOwever, I don't care to have my enojyment spoiled by an in-depth understanding of every component. Spoils the magic for me :(

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

For me the RoboCop films are a lot like the Highlander films : the first one is a flawed masterpiece and the sequels shouldn't have happened.

+1ish, I'm just curious about what you thought was flawed with the originals of those films? Nothing really springs to mind for me in that regard other than the wires in Highlander's final battle

I actually found Robocop 3 to be easier to watch than 2 in a way, maybe because 3 realised it was completely silly  :?

I have no problems with them rebooting Robocop so long as it's done properly (Batman and Star Trek spring to mind, though you could argue as to what ST actually comes under maybe), but a straight remake would just be pointless.

Oh yeah, Highlander is due to come back in some form soon assuming it isn't in developer hell again... They might be giving it quite a push since there was a lot of work done on the game alongside the story process :)

I'm imagining the re-make of the boardroom scene...

Steve Ballmer is dancing around the boardroom like a monkey shouting "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" and "I LOVE THIS COMPANY!!!!1111111"

"Stop dancing, you have 10 seconds to comply"

"Woooooooooooooooooooooo!"

"I am now authorised to use deadly force".

ED-209 guns the [LIFTED] out of him.

We the originals were pants and I wouldn't expect a remake to be any better.

You didn't like the first one? Not even when they asked Bobby if he could fly?

Looks like there is a disagreement between the director and MGM about how much CGI is to be used.

I assume the argument is about whether to use "Lots" or "An absolute s**tload"

Robocop is kinda cheesy, but then again, cheese is good (just ask the lolcats!)

There were some great moments in there.

'Military, state-of-the-art, bang-bang!' was one of my faves - Bodicker was a great villain :D
