This is the third or fourth film I like but had a thumbs down on this thread The thing with Paranormal Activity is I watched it with a really good atmostphere. It was almost like audience participation with people screaming and moving around in their seats in the cinema whilst the missus sqeezed all traces of blood from my arm. Its one (and probably only) film I've seen at the cinema where other people being noisy added to the experience.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

The Bourne Ultimatum.
It could have been a good film had it not been filmed by the Parkinson's Society.

+1 -ish. Didn't hate it, but didn't think it was that good either. It was better than Magnolia though. Now there was a dull film that didn't deserve the praise it got. It's the only film I've ever not finished watching.

I wouldn't say shockingly bad, but definitely not great.

That's what I was expecting tbh, and me right in the middle of it I bought Magnolia on the strength of the reviews at the time - there and then I learnt that the two main movie mags in the UK are determined to push some directors, no matter what the quality of their films And like an absolute prat I sat through it all cos I'd paid for it - should have taken it back now that I think of it. I was caught out in a similar way with Out Of Sight

The worst film ever made is The Three Amigos.
Magnolia wasn't up to much but I liked Out Of Sight. Other recent poor films would include The Golden Compass and Friday the 13th. I'd avoid all American comedies too.
However it's not all bad. My film of the year would be District 9, followed by Avatar and Broken Embraces.

I love Kevin Smith. Not seen Clerks but it's on my list.
