Oops, I meant 4 years in my previous post not 4 months.

Crikey, the stunts you have to pull to get a transplant these days are just ridiculous.

Best of luck to your friend Oliver, although she sounds like a fighter so hopefully she won't need luck. :)

LOL, I know what you mean.

It almost makes you think that the health care service hold off as long as possible before giving someone a transplant.

If they suddenly had one instantly available for her now then why has it taken 4 months and her almost death to get to that stage?

Clinical priority, innit. ;)

And if the tissue "matches".

I hope that Oliver's friend is recovering well.

Clicky?

Just saw this on the BBC, I could be wrong of course, but a lot of the info matches up.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

Yup, that's her.

She's doing really well considering how ill she was before.

Looks like the call was too close :(

Jess passed away last night.

She took a turn for the worse a couple of days ago and never fully recovered from it.

Gutted m8. After the 'close call' too I guess things were looking better. All the best to the family and friends.

Sorry I missed this while we were away. What a shame that the last minute reprieve was just too close. :(
