I will be going, and my leg's still in a cast. Heather you need a better excuse ;)

You can't beat the cinema. End of. Some of us here have "home cinema", but tbh that term is an oxymoron. The experience is worth it and yes whilst kids are a pain, they have just as much right to experience the cinema as the rest of us. It's something to be shared, enjoyed and discussed.

Apparently, the odd number rule is no longer a problem. Which is interesting, because JJ did a superb job with MI:III and made me feel nauseous with Cloverfield! So hopefully he's back on it.

Set tasers to stun...

No I don't. I dislike sharing my entertainment with uncouth people. If I could persuade Best Beloved to hike out with me, our local fleapit does special "before 12 noon" offers, but to be honest I can't really be arsed.

I'll wait for the DVD.

I don't know Heather, have you never thought that some films just should be seen on the big screen?
Some films are just special on the big screen. Star Wars IV springs to mind.

You don't even fancy an 18+ screen at Vue? They must have one of those up there, surely? Why wait all that time and then have a sub-standard viewing experience? Seems a shame is all.

My nearest Vue is Thurrock. That's over t'river from here (two if you count the Medway, but I don't have to pay to cross that one  ).

Our nearest place can never make up its mind whether it's an Odeon, UGC or some other brand. Currently it's Cineworld. I've been there a couple of times, but it's not an experience I want to repeat. There's a large multiplex in Maidstone, but that's even worse. An Odeon multiplex exists in Chatham proper, too.

Frankly, I'm not a movie goer. The experience in recent years has been too loud, with uncomfortable seats and out of focus screen. They wanted me to pay for it, too. I wasn't impressed, so I now wait for the thing to arrive on DVD where I can control my viewing experience. Sure, it's not the real movie experience, but neither is the proper Odeon where my mum worked when I was a kid (I saw Star Wars there when I was 12 and it blew my mind). You get lots of extras with the DVD, too.

First impressions are that Mark Kermode likes it so that's a good start. I'm still sceptical.

Fair play. It's not like I'm the cinema mafia. I just think it's a magical place.

If Mark Kermode likes it that is a good sign, but tbh the reviews could be rubbish and I'd still go. I owe it to myself, after subjecting myself to the disgustingly awful Wolverine.

No, The Plaza in Truro. :P

The film was very good, 9/10! 1 point removed for being too short! I will be forcing the girlfriend to come and see it with me so I can see it a second time. :D

The cinema's too expensive these days (all in) and generally full of d1ckheads for me to go and see it there, but I will definitely watch it at some point as it seems you don't really need to know anything about ST going in 8-)

The above considered, I may have to see Transformers 2 at the flicks, and/or T4 depending on the reviews ;)

I do believe some films really benefit from the cinema experience (TDK, the original Transformers), then there's others that make you angry that you bothered going (AvP2, the second half of I am Legend  )...

Just got back from seeing it

Cameron from House is in it, as is Simon Pegg, and Kumar (From Harold and Kumar), and the REAL Spock :D

Worth a watch, even for non trekkies :)

Dunno if it was the cinema but in the fast moving scenes it was pretty choppy which was a shame

It's also got Beckett from Stargate: Atlantis in it. Can't say I noticed any choppy scenes! :)
