I'd guess at 3-4"? Light snow on and off for the last couple of hours.

There's considerably more snow here than was forecast. The MET say's it's not snowing on me now, but I beg to differ One boss abandoned his journey in this morning just a few miles from Zippy's fun and games, and the other has declared it a snow-day and sent everyone home. I wouldn't mind, but I'm expecting a delivery of new back-up drives to install. It's hard to sign for a package via RDP, if the courier does make it to the door.

Given that the Met Office doesn't seem to think that Lancashire exists I've long since given up with them.

Now I feel bed. I'm exceptionally happy today so that probably means I have the bit of happiness you should've had to feel normal. I'll try and throw it back your way.

No, just a reduced amount, but having said that I managed to sort out the bosses remote access problems so he's working from home this afternoon Another forum story would be good

It wasn't a very big one, probably formed from a spot that went wonky. The doctor is hoping the resulting scar won't go the same way, although there's a risk it will. It doesn't actually hurt now, but was a little sore yesterday afternoon. Anyway, 5D MkII. Jealous? Not much. I'm currently considering a 7D, as I am now of the opinion I don't really need the full frame stuff at this stage of my hobby. A friend of mine "treated" himself to a 7D over Chrimble, so I'm well jealous. It's a lovely bit of kit.

A couple of the chaps have the 7D and I just don't think it's worth the cost difference from the 50D for pretty much the same crop factor. I'm beginning to get a bit jealous of his kit list though - 5D MkII, 50D, 40D, all Canon lenses - 10-22 USM, 17-40 L USM, 24-105 L IS USM, 70-200 F/2.8 L IS USM,100-400 L IS USM, 300 F/2.8 L IS USM and both the 1.4x and 2x converters Oh, and he's getting the 5D MkII for only £250 more than you can pick up a 7D from Whorehouse Sexpress If you want to get your 7D cheaper than anywhere online then let me know Al

The 7D body only is about £1240-ish almost everywhere. The 5D MkII is £1799 at Warehouse Express. That's a fair old margin of difference for a full frame sensor, in my book.
It's all a bit epidemic right now, as I have barely two farthings to rub together. Perhaps later in the year, after I've bought the nice cheap 70-200mm IS at a knock-down price now the MkII version has been announced. I wish.

SMOKING ROOM???? Do you still have them in Germany? Hope you feel better soon. Regarding DIY try other things. I thought I could only do decorating and easy bits but I am more than competent at wood work, quite skilled at filling and repairing and even had a go at plastering. I can also do some plumming after being married to a plummer for 5 years. It might not be perfect or up to 'Grand Designs' standard but I can happily sit back and say I did that. Have a go - you might surprise yourself.

Have you checked Amazon? Amazon Germany sent me an email this week saying they had up to 40% off their normal prices for DSLR camers.

Amazon UK are more expensive. They have a sponsored link to someone called HDEW Cameras in Surrey, which has a very good price on the 7D - but I'm always a bit leery of such good prices. They're usually too good to be true, and unless I can get a testimonial from a satisfied customer I won't touch them. http://www.simplyelectronics.net/mainpr ... p?pid=7797 There has to be a catch. Simply has to be.

I know. It's a risk. This is the first one I've had, so *fingers crossed* it may heal okay and not be a problem.
