That trains will only run properly on tracks and have lots of momentum, so don't get in their way

Since there were multiple cars on an unmanned crossing, I suspect signal failure. It wouldn't be the first time.

I have lived near a barriered crossing in the past – and used to see people swerve around it quite regularly
