It would probably end up that instead of having one out-right winner the forum decide that they like aspects from a few of the designs put forward, which would be good. Then every one will be a winner.

Sounds good to me. Although I won't be entering. My web design skills involve picking a template and sticking with it

I like the idea of a combined gaming forum.
I have both xbox and pc. And yes, i'm too lazy to change forum to post about each one separately.

+1 for the lazy gamer campaign.

I do like to have an over all glimpse of new activity. I liked the Dennis way of having a list of all the fora in one place, and ones with new posts would be flagged. Drilling down like we have to here takes that helpful feature away. Is there a way of flagging new posts at the top level of the site without compromising too much on the minimalist approach?

Hmm, looks like a lot of us had similar ideas

I agree. That's the reason I don't usually like sub-forums. It would be great if we could have the best of both worlds.

There must be a way to do both, I just don't know how (yet). As we've only got 104 members (not bad though for 20 hours) too many forums could get confusing but things need to be in place for world domination. I'm monitoring traffic levels atm whilst learning phpbb3 (damn you confusing permission menus)

Hi
I've been offline while I took the early home option from the Bat Cave. I come back and find all kinds of goodness sprouting over the place!
Once thing, can we have the Photography forum I suggested? There's a question in the new HiFi/AV forum about it, and I think it would be a more sensible option to keep the two topics separate.
Ta.

this might not be under your control, but can we have it so links to external sites are opened in new tabs? DUMP used to do this, but i just clicked a link that i made, and it opened in the same tab

Hehe, people won't like you for asking that. I asked on page 3 (I think) and got told to right click all the links. It makes sense to me though that if the source and the destination are unrelated then it shouldn't open in the same tab.

Not bad? Thats freakin' awesome! Permission menus = fail. The defined roles curl up and die when you have MODs install with their own permission values unless you change them.

Didn't see it anywhere but a "Quick Reply" option would be awesome, esp for 24hr threads.
