Shouldn't you immediately boycott all Cadbury's products as they agreed to sell the company to Kraft?

I have.

That'd mean no Poulain! I can't commit to that! As long as the jobs remain in Britain, I don't see too much wrong with the takeover.

So let me get this straight.
Because you disapprove of the loss of a Brittish company you are willing to see it totally destroyed out of spite (which is the logical conclusion of a sucessfull boycot).

I honestly can't be bothered to boycot the few things on that list I might actually buy. It's not like there is a good substitute for Toblerone now is there?

It's now an American company, and yes if I don't like their corporate practices then I will do everything I can to avoid supporting their company. Who knows, maybe they'll spin Cadbury's off again.

If you're trying to duck every American company then that's most of the products on our shelves

Seriously when I went to the States I was gobsmacked by how many products were American and I'd happily thought they were British for years.

Could've been worse - could've been Hershey. Last time I had one of their chocolates it tasted of cheese!

Just out of curiosity, are Kraft buying the name too? Does that mean we'll get Kraft "Cadbury's Creme Egg" in the same way we once had Cadbury's "Fry's Turkish Delight"?

If that happens, it won't be in any form you might like. What Kraft will do is keep the decent stuff for themselves and sell off all the unprofitable crap to whichever fool is daft enough to buy it. Cadbury's as a company will be a pathetic shadow of its former self, and the brands we know and love will carry a Kraft label on the wrapper. :(

(For more information, see here  )

As Cadbury's is pretty much a household name here, I think they'd be daft to mess with it. Chances are, it'll carry on with the same name (at least for now), in the same way you can still buy a Jaguar X-Type, rather than a Tata X-Type (perish the thought :o ) or a Tata Jaguar X-Type.

Chances are, we won't notice much difference in the near future. At least, I hope.

The adverts for that seriously scared me.

"Feed your children this plasticised toxic waste. It has salt and fat, and comes in stackable building blocks. It will kill them, but it might shut them up for a minute - well worth the extortionate price!"

Seriously WTF kind of person would buy that sh!te and feed it to their children?! It's an absolutely obscene industry that promotes murdering children.

I reckon if more of us didn't mince our words, the world would be a better place.

For too long everyone has been using mealy-mouthed platitudes to avoid offending anyone - whether real or assumed. The truth is out there.
