I think we have might on our side. Aren't there more people living in the geographical south of the UK than elsewhere?

Anyway, as I said in Another Place, vive la regional difference!

Mr. Ark - how do you explain the existance of the word "lunch". It clearly exists. We acknowledge your word "dinner", we just have a different meaning of it. But "lunch" must mean something. You don't get linguistic null pointers!

I was always told your main meal is called dinner, whenever it is. You're posh if you have it in the evening, or northern if you have it at lunchtime. Either way I have breakfast lunch and supper.

To really clear things up. Dinner is the main meal of the day and so can be around noon or late afternoon / evening.

Normally on my lap in front of the TV, but sometimes in the dining room.

Ah so I was right about northeners at least

No, you weren't.

Northern Sequence:

Breakfast, Brew, Brew, Lunch, Brew, Brew, Tea

Dinner is the word for the big meal in the day - can be either Lunch or Tea
Only posh b*ggers eat supper.
Brew involves a cup of tea and four biscuits.

It can be very difficult to judge scale from a photo
