If anyone thinks that this isn't an issue then they really are very naive about how the world works.

Or perhaps just not as inclined to let non-issues rule the world?

Zippy's right. How many times do I have to say this?! The story was published to cause a stir and that's just what's happening. The world may work like that, but I'm not gonna subscribe to that world. This is a non-issue and every person that claims to have a problem with these references is just fueling the fire.

This is entirely what I mean.

Most wars, most arguments, most fears - they're generally founded on things that aren't, fundamentally, important.

So they've been making these things for how many years?

And it's only just been flagged up?

I wonder how many people got offended in that time ^_^

Also maybe they should change their CROSShairs to star-of-david-hairs or crescent-moon-and-star-hair?

This is a load of crap. If people hate Christianity then the last place they should move is America. It's a country that was pretty much founded BECAUSE of Christianity - most countries converted to Christianity from some other religion.

I am aware that I can be far too ambiguous for my own good sometimes, it is unintentional. :D

No, the point is they're fighting a war against people who have, in the past, accused them of mounting a 'crusade' against Islam.
Using weapons referencing the Bible isn't going to help matters politically in areas which are touch and go, at best.
I'm sure there's probably some manufacturers in the US that'll happily flog you a rifle inscribed with any Biblical passage you want, and that's really their business.
It's when you take those to a war zone, and start allowing religion on your part start leeching into your activities that you get problems.
Like using a beef jerky business card (no, really) when you're trying to start a business in a veggie area of India.

America's real-life values (as opposed to its theoretical ones) have rarely, to me at least, seemed anything like Christian.

Furthermore it does seem like downright theft for the US to lay claim to the "christian" justification when most Christians on the planet almost completely disagree with almost every aspect of US domestic and foreign policy.

A man may boast furiously of being a Christian, an athlete or perhaps great in bed; it is easy to claim anything. However claims do not a glorious lover, an Adonis or a little Christ make; unfortunately for the claimant actions speak louder than words.

I'm not really a "little Christ" - I'm just trying my best.

What about them millions of Christians in the States? US policy is a matter of opinion, not faith. IMHO Christians (like any other group of people) represent a vast cross-section of opinions on a huge variety of subjects. Being a Christian shouldn't automatically mean a certain political opinion.
