Any proof? I think I know what you're getting at, but we just don't know for definite. And even then we could never be sure

quite hard to prove that. Do we have to wait until what woud most likely be way past the end of his natural life before we decide the face we haven't seen him for 50 years means he's dead? Fundamentally, it doesn't matter. It's not as if he's doing the bombings himself, he's just a figurehead. If he's dead, they'l just find another demogogue.

I know, none of the above was meant to be serious Right now, he's practically a Western prompt to make the whole debacle more palatable in the media...

I can’t help thinking of Videodrome at times. One character only communicates on video tapes. It turns out he was dead, and the messages are spliced from a massive library of him speaking.

Well as a believed kidney patient and being 52 years of age in a country where you don't get the correct medical treatment for any age or nasty disease related problem even if you are not a terrorist fugetive, I would believe there may be a strong possibility of hime being dead a few years ago or will be in the next 5.
For Al quaeda's continuity it is useful to belive him to be alive and he is also a key figure used to justify american operations in the middle east so is probably better alive and hidden than dead or found, to both sides.

Allegedly he also claimed to be responsible for 9/11 but I've yet to see any proof of that. Funny, we're all expected to take his word for things. He must be trustworthy then.
