Thanks for the replies all.

I fully intend to go to the other interviews. The IoW one interests me the most and, as I said, I have a good chance with that one. It's by no means a certainty, but I am intrigued. It pays considerably more than the others and would constitute a fresh start but, if successful, I have to consider moving expenses and cost of living etc..

I was wondering if I should mention the job offer in the interviews, and if it would help or hinder my chances. The fact that I have a job in the bag, but still made the effort to travel five hours for an interview, should at least give me a few points for willingness.

Cheers.

Well, if you make it clear your considering another offer then, if they like you, it should encourage them to be quite quick.

Personally, I would let them know but obviously from a point of view of wanting to see what options you have and which company would be best to work with.

If they mark it against you that you're look for the best position for yourself, your career and that you prefer to keep your options open then they're really not the company you want to be with. In my opinion anyhoo.

Why did I see the title of this thread and expect to find an Apple bashing rant?

Just got back an hour or so ago - helluva long day for a 2 hour interview.

I did tell them about the job offer, and they responded by asking if I had signed anything yet.

For my part, the interview went very well. I wasn't nervous in the slightest, thankfully, and I didn't come away from it thinking, "argh, if only I'd said this" etc.. I did everything I could so, if I don't get it, they simply found someone better - I won't be burdened by regret.

I should find out, one way or another, on Wednesday.

Well that's all anyone can ask for really. Here's hoping you'll have something to celebrate!

Them asking whether you signed anything yet is, well, a good sign. It shows they're interested and that they're not wasting their time.

Glad to hear it went well, you'll have to let us know how it goes. Although, saying that, we already know you've got one job at least. :D

 Sorry, couldn't resist.

The IoW pays over 10k more than the other two, and has better benefits.

They will pay my hotel accommodation for the first few weeks, as well as free ferry tickets for travelling back and forth at weekends, then they are going to pay the first six months rent when we move.

My only concern is breaking the news to the kids. Cam will be fine, he's only four. Adam, who is nine, may not be too thrilled at the idea of moving away from friends and family. I'll just have to big it up as best I can.
