I didn't say practising like the US is a religious country. but the fact is that religion and government aren't really seperated in the UK

Yes, France and the UK may have things in common, but their attitude, system of government, culture and social hierarchy and etiquette are vastly differently. If you don't believe me, go there and ask a stranger, "Quelle impression avez-vous de la situation politique et economique en France a present?" (approx). I did it once and had a very illuminating conversation given my extremely poor grasp of their language.

You simply can't do over here, what they do over there.
